NSSA Hall of Fame Honors Marv Albert, Rick Reilly & State Winners

With microphones switched off and pens reposed in pockets, sportscasters and sportswriters from around the country gather in Salisbury, NC each spring to relax as well as honor their own. Starting June 7, 2014, the small North Carolina city, home to the National Sportswriters Sportscasters Association Hall of Fame, welcomes a huge contingent of accomplished sports journalists to its annual awards weekend. Spearheaded by Executive Director Dave Goren, the 55th annual weekend will recognize individual state winners and induct a nationally acclaimed sportswriter and sportscaster into its illustrious circle of excellence. This year the NSSA ushers former Sports Illustrated and current ESPN writer Rick Reilly as well as current Turner Sports basketball and CBS football play-by-play announcer Marv Albert into its hallowed Hall of Fame.
