Sports fans won’t argue that athletes on Twitter is the perfect prescription for disaster.

Star athletes with big egos and bigger Twitter followings become easily vexed by the opportunity to share their random thoughts.

However, too many unpolished jocks think they’re poet laureates and recklessly post to a Twitter universe poised to pounce on anything insensitive, unproven or irresponsible.

Top 10 Unwritten Rules in Sports

A successful bunt during a Major League Baseball game this past weekend caused an unwarranted brouhaha between a petty pitcher and a shrewd hitter.

Toronto Blue Jays’ outfielder Colby Rasmus laid down a perfect bunt against Texas Rangers’ pitcher Colby Lewis in the 5th inning of a 2 – 0 game. Rasmus’ infield hit irritated Lewis because his bunt single came during a defensive shift employed by the Rangers.

Lewis yelled at Rasmus when he successfully reached first base during the game and commented after the game that Rasmus’ ploy was unethical and violated the unwritten rules of baseball; namely, bunting against a defensive shift.
